Life Story for Mary Meyers (Schatchsneider)
Mary (Schachtschneider) Meyers
Mary Meyers was born in Tuscean, Poland on September 8, 1926, and immigrated to Canada in 1930. Her family settled near Wetaskiwin, Alberta. On November 1, 1948 Mary married Art Meyers. The couple moved to Lloydminster where they went into the dry cleaning business with Art’s brother. When Art’s father became ill, Art and Mary moved to Waseca to take over the family farm. Mary worked at the Waseca Co-op then Maidstone Co-op for a total of 20 years. Some of her favorite pass-times were gardening, crocheting, traveling, fishing, and most of all visiting with family and friends. Despite the fact that Mary didn’t ever have children of her own, she was an amazing aunt to her many nieces and nephews. They all loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed!
